Reload NFS once you're done and your clients should be able to mount the files.

Thanks, I just uninstalled and re-installed everything, so .... now I get a wonderful different error. Your guess about the wrong kernel was correct, but when I tried to specify the correct kernel, it still wanted to use the old one. I use a soft link to locate the correct kernel. Perhaps there is some service I need to stop/start other than dhcpd?

I'm assuming that you've changed your root-path entry in dhcpd.conf to point to the new location.
Also, make sure your thin client is using the new kernel.
In fact, I'll bet that you are using the old kernel, and there aren't any kernel modules in the /opt/ltsp-4.1 directory for that kernel.
Make sure you change your 'filename' entry in dhcpd.conf to point to the newly installed LTSP kernel.

I get the error message form rc.usb that says the USB subsytem not found. However, using 3.x, everything works. I have no idea why it would not work now. The entire reason for upgrading is to get better support for local drives and sound, but right now I am just plain discouraged
I can't get to IRC either since the systems are behind a proxy/firewall.
