thanks for the input Andrew and yes we have individual accounts for all 
users.
As additional clarification, we are looking for a global setting within 
LTSP that would allow us to assign a manual proxy to a web browser for 
all users under LTSP. This can be accomplished in MS Windows with group 
policies and are looking for the same kind of solution. thanks again...
