Todd,

I have configured and support several Windows TS (with LTSP, with
Thinstation, and with Windows Remote Desktop Client). I understand
that if one uses Windows TS, then yes, they have to pay for Windows TS CALs.

However, the question was to how to run the application within LTSP?
Since we know the server software must run on a Windows platform (no
Linux version available), the next best thing to run the server software
on a single hardware platform would be to run it under vmware on Linux.
Linux would be configured as the LTSP server for the clients, and the
guest OS would host the application server software.

The only question in this model is the application client. Will the
application client run in a browser? Will the application client run
under Wine ? If either of those two answers are yes, then the
application client could be executed natively on LTSP server.

If the application client is only available as a Windows executable and
will not run under Wine, then Windows TS is the answer.
