I also had my share of trouble with Hardy.  It just won't run reliably 
on my Dell D630 laptop.  I've tried both 32-bit and 64-bit and it would 
lock up constantly.  It even failed on another identical D630, so I'm 
convinced it's not a hardware failure.  I finally reverted back to Gutsy 
and it's working fine.

I think one of the purposes of a LTS Desktop release is for corporations 
that just want to deploy a linux desktop and not have to upgrade it 
often.  For many people, a solid web browser and email client is all 
they need.

I'm looking forward to trying Intrepid when it is released later this 
month, but i'm not gonna be surprised if it also has stability problems.

And I agree with you, having a "faster boot time" is really not a 
feature that I'm looking for.  I'd take a solid reliable experience over 
fast boot any day.
