Hi list and Jan,

- I've got it working, well sort of...

- On a non-productive system I can produce (with the kind help of -J.) a
boot-cd using "kiwi-ltsp-setup -cd" and so. This works.

- what I'd like to was to avoid the CD altogether and have a PXE-boot
image onto the harddisk of the old PC's.

Well..old and old. It actually puzzles me, because they are quite new
and are all running RealTek 8919 (or something like that) netcards. But
I cannot persuade the BIOS to have them net/PXE booting.

This used to be a no-brainer and has always worked. But with these
stupid machines, no matter what I do, I can't make them PXE boot. I've
seen it before though...som BIOS's just won't let you boot anything than
the HD even though it says so.

So I put in new netcards, all with 8919-class RealTek chips. And then I
deactivate the onboard NICs and so. I had hoped that this alone
would/could bring up a PXE boot from the new netcards. Not so.

So I need a floppy(which the machines don't have) or a USB (which gets
stolen all the time) OR a CD/Harddisk image to get'm booting.

Hitherto, we'll do with the CD's.

But if you've got a better idea??
