Brief history. Had a Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTSP install working. Tried
upgrading, did not like how the upgrade went and re-installed original
8.04.2 LTSP (from backup) and all was working fine. Decided to do a
"bare" install of Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty) with the alternate CD (like I
have always done with past installs) and for some reason DHCP did not
like my arrangement.
My motherboard has an onboard 10/100/1000 LAN and it connects to the
internet. My LTSP is on a second 10/100 card (RTL8139, I think?) for the
terminals. (Just like my old 8.04, that was working.)
During install there was a warning message that DHCP did not execute
correctly.
All the troubleshooting guides indicate that they are written for 8.04
or older versions. I am not sure how to proceed here! All my attempts to
correct the DHCP issue result in a broke internet connection. Networking
restart complaints of "Ignoring unknown interface eth0=eth0". That is
the 10/100/1000 onboard LAN.
Has anyone else had this experience?
