Yes, I agree, but I am having problems and prefer to solve this problem
before making any changes to (like upgrading) second nic. As my existing
system worked fine with 8.04.2, why does it not work with jaunty?

Onboard 10/100/1000 is primary nic. It is connected to the dhcpd.conf
file configuration failure during install.

I have been attempting to set nics to static addresses. That does not
seem to solve my problem.
