Ok, I have pulseaudio daemon running on the ltsp client. I have
asound.conf configured. I have PULSE_SERVER=tcp:xxx.xxx.x.xx:4713 set in
client.conf

When I'm not running X, and just at the client CLI, I can run

aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav and I hear sound.

When I startx and I begin running X from my app server - I go to
Preferences->Sounds and get I get the following error (this is
essentially running gnome-sound-properties)

"gnome-sound-properties

Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not
take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME
(e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with
the GNOME settings manager."

Also, my server login script that I run to log into these app servers
and run X from has the following output:

"AttributeError: DBusException instance has no attribute '_dbus_error_name'

** (gnome-panel:9874): WARNING **: Failed to establish a connection with
GDM: No such file or directory

** (bug-buddy:9971): WARNING **: Couldn't load icon for Open Folder"

I feel like I'm close here. Port 4713 is open to and from the thin
client and the app server.

Thanks for any advise,

mike
