It is my current hope that grabbing a tarball on a particular version
tag will consistently have the same directory name inside. Then we can
say source.dir = 'whatever'.  But I'm not _completely_ convinced that
this is the case. (The difficulties with proxies mean that I am
relying on downloads.github.com and I don't know how whether those
links will exist forever.)

It certainly makes the tarball from <project>/tarball/master un-usable
from LR, unless LR grows a new feature, source.dir='*' ;)

I have a reasonably recent backup, it's suprisingly small, less than
100 megs.  We also have webspace, I'll look into that.
