++ I think before we make all types of assumptions on other people's behalf because everyone's reason not to post or to post differs. What can be done is on subscription all the guidelines on how one should post and what to post should be ruled out. A good example is the NANOG list ( since someone mentioned it ) , it has VERY strict guidelines and rules and is heavily moderated so not any post can pass the moderator. So if the so called "newbie" is out there and is shaky or thinking twice about posting, what he/she can do is read the guidelines and know that no one will answer or atleast they wont get a good answer till they provide enough info or whatever. Am sure we have all gone through the newbie stage and know how irritating it is to have no one answer your query yet you see new threads starting on the list :). But if you clearly know that if you have not RTFM , then you simply wont get an answer. With that in mind , you just might have more newbies posting more confidently PS** I think this list is actually pretty big, not sure of the numbers but am sure kiggs can share those with us :) *just a thought* > > Mark. > > > > > Noah. > _______________________________________________ > LUG mailing list > [email protected] > http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug > %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ Regards David Ziggy Lubowa _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [email protected] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/
