True! I have seen this often even on the bigger list for example afnog. Because I am quite active in aswering questions there, there are often people who will send me questions directly rather than post on the list. Thus they miss out on tapping from the wider experience available on the list because of their fear of peers form their own country seeing them struggle with some problems. I guess this requires a big change in mentality and being able to acknowledge that you simply can't know everything. I have seen the likes of Randy Bush ask questions in many fora without a problem and sometimes you get amazed when you find a "great" guru asking about something you do quite easily.
