Can help the Voice/data guys here. It was within particular Cells eg You would get through if you called Kiboga but not Ntinda.Technology has limits .Besides who will use all the capacity after a few days when all people run out of battery, airtime,Petrol minus umeme.Your backups won't work here.Generators use oil. These cases are negligible in business :-) .I for one didn't rush, it's nature you can't control nature otherwise it will control you.

I can only expect that most providers will want to upgrade/expand their networks to deal with traffic (voice+data)
that will be flowing in times such as these.
For example, New Vision clearly didnt anticipate the high traffic that hit their site. they can look into routing local traffic via the ix, if newvision is hosted in uganda, and also get a mirror to serve other parts of
the world. same applies to other news sources.

Maybe to keep this line of thread on topic, we can discuss whether anyone's (service/network) disaster recovery plans have been called upon during this period, and if so, have they been properly implemented.

Mark.
