The ATI radeon Mobility Driver is supported, my old compaq had the
same driver and worked out of the box.

But like ernest pointed out if the display is giving u issues you can
always install in text mode and setup X later.

oh, you said redhat-based. (so, i presume FC). what version of FC were
you trying to install? what graphics card does your laptop have?

best way is to install using the TUI and try to setup X after!
