I suppose the idea to "better-utilize" the exchange point would be to improve the current state-of-affairs, and solve the capacity problem for connecting to it. However, trying to turn the exchange point into a data centre might go either way, unless the it is hosted at one. Different folks might have different priorities as to what *should* be hosted at a public exchange point, given the space constraints, cost of utilities, cooling, expertise, e.t.c. The suggestion to host numerous servers (and services) at the exchange point has come up several times. There must be a reason why it is yet to happen. Mark.
