So if you got the companies that do linux support to sponsor bandwidth for a 
server to act as a local repository, they would all benefit. As long as the 
IX was functioning properly, they could easily even begin doing installations 
via ftp which is something I doubt anyone here has done off anything but a 
local LAN :-)
