No decent mailer on OS X that will do both PGP and local
Maildir.
Any reason why you can't use fink or darwinports to get a decent
mailer?
well, unless you go cli (read: mutt and friends) then you're left
with the usual options (kmail et al) which in turn depend on X11 and
KDE/GNOME/.... unless of course you can suggest one that we should
look at.
Mail.app is nice, but without maildir support, if I have the same
(POP3) accounts setup on more than one mac and download email from
either one then keeping those mailboxes in sync is pretty tricky.
Keeping a copy of the mail on the server helps but does nothing for
your sent items and either mac would have to re-filter the mail into
different mailboxes.
GNUMail.app <http://www.collaboration-world.com/gnumail/ > looks
promising but still has a few rough edges.
