I tested yesterday, and got the same results as Reiner, this is to be expected, since we are on the same ISP. However, I tested from several different places in the Inet topology and got mixed results. (Some .ug [name]servers replied, some didn't ...ping, dig & WHOIS). In any case, CFI is addressing the issues. Some of my queries yesterday to boxen in UG went overseas (perhaps the source of timeouts?), but now the routing seems to have come back: >tracert wawa.eahd.or.ug Tracing route to wawa.eahd.or.ug [216.104.200.23] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 77 ms 10 ms 7 ms 41.220.1.225 2 194 ms 570 ms 275 ms 41.220.2.65 3 56 ms 109 ms 169 ms 217-212-242-45.customer.telia.com [217.212.242.45] 4 227 ms * 336 ms 217-212-242-13.customer.telia.com [217.212.242.13] 5 131 ms 201 ms * 41.220.14.254 6 452 ms 321 ms 216 ms 194.153.153.18 7 * * 2679 ms afol-ipg-2-65.africaonline.co.ug [216.104.202.65] 8 * * 1553 ms afol-ipg23.africaonline.co.ug [216.104.200.23] Trace complete. This all goes back to ongoing local hosting discussions, Charles, would it be possible for you to come up with stats (before next Tuesday would be ideal) to tell the community how many .ug domains are hosted inside IP blocks held by UG providers and their customers? What percentage, etc. -- Cheers, McTim $ whois -h whois.afrinic.net mctim _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [email protected] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
