1, i am checking with different networks. I use the LUG

2. I checked with peers. They did have the same issue

3. I checked with my ISP. They seem to agree there is an issue which is beyond 
their control

4. I got a reply from the WHOIS server that was empty. That was a genuine 
reply from the genuine WHOIS server. That is not a network mistake, it is a 
mistake by the WHOIS server.

5. The CFI website also had an issue with its own whois page. That page is 
outside the network i am in.

6. Charles Mussisi thinks he has a problem with his whois service

That pretty much settles it. There is an issue.

The problem, as stated, is that the service is inconsistent. I have whois'ed 
succesfully last night, and then 10 minutes later, it stopped working. That 
is why i stated that some are more lucky than others. 

but i guess mcTim just explained that.
