I think this is due to a bit of psychology and culture Steve
has embedded into the Apple "cult" that many of us have
since joined.

I own an iPod touch - would I like an FM Tuner in it, sure;
will I go and buy one that is built to retrofit? No?

Why? Because I don't want to "tarnish" my iPod touch.

Apple buyers love their products they way they are, even
though they may be inadequate when compared to other
brands. As such, Apple buyers are willing to compromise and
settle for less and/or wait for next year's upgrade.

It's all in the culture - Steve has figured out the one
thing that gets Apple kit off the shelves - DESIRE.

Mark.
