I suspect you mean the 3750's.

I have no experience with the Extreme kit, both in price and 
mechanics (although we have an Alpine 3820 which we have 
since retired), so I can't make a case for/against them.

What I can say is that 3560's are basically 3750's without 
StackWise. I prefer to buy 3560's because larger switches 
like the 6500 make more sense if you need high port density 
(for me, that is).

Well, QoS at Layer 2 is basically 802.1p, which most decent 
switch vendors will support.

Since it'll likely be done in hardware at Layer 2, any 
vendor with a decent switch can accomplish this.

That's the question, in what way?

At a hardware level, both vendors should be fine - it's the 
software stack where some are better than others, so I'd 
imagine this is where you're comparing.

Why is Extreme better, I ask? I can't compare because I have 
no real experience with Extreme (which also means I can't 
say Cisco are better than Extreme).

Take a few features you've tested on both vendors' switches 
and tell us what you thought.
