I am a little confused though. Does the G1 refer to this particular
phone or the release of Google Android? Are we not going to see 20-30
different handsets coming out with the OS a la Windows Mobile, in which
case does that not mean any mistakes will be rectified by the next
company to release a Google Android phone? For example the design.
Is anyone out there trying to hack a iphone to run google android?
Surely that would be a truely amazing combination?

MS is forced to spend $200 million on advertising campaign to correct
the general impression as well as focus on the release of windows 7 next
year to try and recover

No I think it will flop. A big part of the phone culture in the states
is sexiness. And I must say that the G1 is a butt ugly phone :)

Apple were not targeting business, corporates and power users/geeks
with the iphone.
this is why it has sold well.
With this in mind do you think that the G1 will sell well? Because i
believe they have targeted the same group as apple.
