Yes but we must never forget that great leveler of all called Time! One day, using existing laws, the Danish government could sue all involved, including the lowly security agents, leaving useful lessons for future generations, as they see grey-haired men carted off to prison for crimes committed in their youth. Even today we can't know what restraints such fears put on those that would otherwise be tempted to act with impunity. Society benefits from such restraint.

I am still waiting to hear a decent argument for doing nothing in this case. Why tempt well-intentioned civil servants with such power?

You then can say NO or YES.

If you refuse and there is a legitimate reason why Government needs it
(e.g. you are a person of concern) then they ALSO need to go to the
courts and get the rights to compel you to give it to government.

But just walking into homes and offices and taking what they want is
not how civilized societies operate.
You are I believe thinking about "Atilla The Hun" rule.

Kiggs,

So what should the govt do incase it needs to obtain information? The
law can always be exploited but that's why I am told we have courts
through which justice can be sought...

Sam,
If you have nothing to hide
Why do you have curtains on your windows?

You should be able to say you are doing nothing illegal so people
can come
to your place at any time of the day or night and look in?

Its a privacy issue. I have material that only I need to see (and
no its
not porn).

You may want to get some views in on the matter. Edward

You will no doubt note Section 21, which taken together with Sec.
19 and
Schedule 2 offers more than a little opportunity for legalised
abuse.
Yes,
no African government needs a law like this to abuse the rights of
citizens,
but I'm sure there are lessons in history that would counsel
against
letting
this pass as it is...
