Very good points P. A. Bagyenda I agree with you on both java and flash. Any
Linux user has a host of complaints about java and flash. The only problem
is a lot of websites are built using this technology so it would not be wise
to totally ignore it. The area of rich web apps will always be hotly
contested, just look at moonlight and silverlight.

I fit Apple into the mold of other phone vendors. They are indeed trying to
lock their customers into their technologies and not allow any other vendors
in. Same thing RIM and Microsoft do. The space of PDA/Ultra Moblie devices
will be very interesting to watch over the next couple years as vendors
jockey for position. But so long as Linux and other OSS apps keep getting
ported to these devices I won't mind watching them fight.
