but it is not a great message to send. why did they wait until android was
overtaking the iphone to sue?

Clearly Oracle is a different beast to Sun and needs to learn how to engage the
open source community otherwise this looks like a IP splurge.

Bet monty is laughing now.

Personally I'm going to be cautious using anything with there name in the
title.

Lug,
Oracle suing Google, hmmmn.....
unfortunately, i will not lose sleep over this
The Google legal department, is probably busier than their software
development division. With law suits as ridiculous, as their logo, colors,
name, etc
Now when a giant like Oracle joins the fray, this becomes more spicy.
of course, am no expert at copyright, but whatever the repercussions of this
suit, i dont see the world coming to an end.
Google should pay, if they have infringed any copyright, and if they are
clean, well let the good courts decide.
something tells me this law suit, is a muscle flexing gimmick for Oracle, to
make them a relevant force in the Industry.

You will no doubt have read about it. Now for some insight.
Things like these as well as
http://sstallion.blogspot.com/2010/08/opensolaris-is-dead.html for example
tend to prompt one to start a hold-timer on Oracle/Sun open source ventures.
MySQL anyone?
