IPCop is a dedicated distribution. Pop in the CD, boot, wipe the machine and you are set. You can choose to use IPCop as a DHCP server, but you can also keep your current one. Just make sure that the DHCP server communicates the correct gateway, which will be the IP address of the ipcop box, to the clients. Same goes for DNS, you can use your current box as DNS server, or IPCOP. Just make sure the DNS server has the correct entries for the local network.
