That's right (not sure if others can comment about the 12.1 
kernel booting on hardware machine - it's quite slow on my 
virtual machine).

Tried in '07, tried it in '11. 

At the end of the day, you're work very hard to have all the 
necessary supporting files that KMail needs from KDE for it 
to be of any use to you. After much pain and suffering, 
running Linux was the best way to sure all supporting KDE 
files were in place :-).
