I'm maybe less fanatical about Linux then U but use it since ~15 years as only system on my pc. I agree, with U in that, but only in case if a frequent exchange of documents coming from the proprietary Microsoft format zoo. But even then libreOffice do sometimes a better job, although such cases have just a academic value. If the exchange of such proprietary documents is limited, libreOffice is by my experience a usable alternative.
