when they complain "word has a problem" they did not noticed the difference. > From what I've seen, a large document with graphics & text boxes and tables > (i.e. just about every over-20 page document) created in Word is almost > impossible to open in Libre Office while retaining all the formatting, > spacing, etc. Even worse, try opening and saving as docx = disaster. That something i've seen, even between different word versions. Like opening with a german word a one line document saved with polish word => windows freeze. There is something called "Open Document Format" standartised and supported by word AFAIK full. From the history of word it is obvious that Microsoft has no sentiments toward own formats and change/abandom them as the marketing departement recommends it. DOCX is AFAIK one of those temporary file formats that by historical experience can become unsupported with any change of a word version. > I believe Word, I believe LaTeX ;-) but beside of that it is a question of what is needed in the daily routine.
