Hi Kyle,

In a previous life, I ran a dual vendor voice strategy - Alcatel & Cisco
for 4 years - for 600 extensions - 200 Alcatel and 400 Cisco.

Cisco works OK - very good on the IP side (native).
Alcatel is OK - on digital & PSTN, but not so good on VoIP.

Biggest disappointment with Alcatel was cost - invisible, non-linear &
non-transparent licensing.
The moment you need to expand the user base by 10 or 20, or you want to do
a SIP trunk, you are hit with an incredible cost!

300 extensions is probably big money - if each extension is about USD 100
on the desk - USD 30,000.

Take some time and do the maths / planning. It will probably save you a lot
of surprises.

Kind regards,
Bernard
