Hm. That sounds really, really odd. The only thing I could imagine it could
be is either some routing issue (unlikely), some programs not recognising a
connection not initiated through NetworkManager (more likely) or some
now-errant setting the faulty programs themselves (most likely).

Anyone else who wants to take a stab at this?
