Hi, I haven't tried this but, if you are *not* already using the DNS Forwarding system in pfSense:
You could enable and configure the DNS Forwarding system to redirect all Facebook.com DNS requests to a bad IP (or your Intranet IP). Then, create a LAN rule (on a schedule) that redirects all outgoing DNS port traffic to the pfSense IP address. During the active schedule period, this would redirect all external DNS queries to pfSense's DNS Forwarder system. Thus, users attempting to access Facebook.com et al would get forwarded to nowhere (or your Intranet, etc). There may be a better way, but I will leave that to others :) Regards, Kyle Spencer On Oct 10, 2013 9:56 AM, "Faisal Seif" <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello Every one, am using PFSense on Free BSD and i have tried to install > all necessary packages but it seems it cannot block specific sites like > facebook at a specific times..I want to be able to block some sites during > work hours and put them open after work. > > Thank You. > > _______________________________________________ > The Uganda Linux User Group: http://linux.or.ug > > Send messages to this mailing list by addressing e-mails to: > [email protected] > Mailing list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ > Mailing list settings: http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug > To unsubscribe: http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug > > The Uganda LUG mailing list is generously hosted by INFOCOM: > http://www.infocom.co.ug/ > > The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including > attachments if any).
