    John:

If you could kindly keep us (or me directly) in the loop regarding
2.6.18patches it would be much appreciated.

Will do. But it looks like you can't expect anything real soon. There's
some
activity happening on that front (see cfs bug #11039) but it doesn't look
like
it's ready for prime time yet. There's a chance that in the next few
weeks I
may end up diving back in and trying to come up with a version of that
stuff
which works. But I think that's unlikely.

I appreciate it. Also found a thread on the devel mailing list which you may
be referencing -- mballoc issues with 2.6.18 on the MDS systems -- a patch
was attached which apparently fixes the issue -- will give that a shot as
well. Operations are reportedly fine on the OSS.

Trying to build 1.4.9 on debian etch here.

Ok. I'm focussed on lustre 1.6, but I would expect that the kernel
support
would be the same, or close to it. If I run across anything I'll let you
know.

You might also ask Tim Snider (Tim, you listening?) as he's got at least a
partial solution using 2.6.18.

Thanks again, much appreciated.
