I know a person who owns, and actually plays, more than 30 lutes. He
has most of those suspended from the peg box with a string going to
hooks on the wall. He is a very careful person, and I doubt whether
he would do that, if there was a risk.
He also has a collection of the Chinese equivalent of Baonsai trees,
and says they are very good companions to his lutes, as they keep the
room at the correct humidity.
