Probably the usual continuo Gallichon ie the large (usually single strung) instrument in A (tuned C D G c e a) with a string length c.95cm (the Edlinger in Prague is a good example). MH

I'm to play it (with Alfonso, hi Alfonso, fun!) next month and received the score yesterday. The Chalcedons are mostly unisono and a lot of the time unsinono with the bc. There are some 'solo' passages, nothing spectacular. Anybody has any idea what tuning, what instrument, what's most likely for Fasch, anything? Range is D below bass cleff to e' above middle c'.
