I have a Fletcher 8-course. It's a Presbyter style lute,
"stretched" to accomodate eight courses, spaced nicely for thumb in. I've
had it about 10 years and have had no problems with it. Sounds fine strung
completely in gut; if fact, Richard had been using nylgut and overspuns,
but hearing my (his) lute in gut several years later liked the sound of the
instrument well enough to do some restringing of his own. N.B. I'm not a
professional, so my judgement may not count for a lot. But I'd give Richard
a good rating; Pat O'Brien recommended him to me years before I was able to
afford a replacement for my early 70's clunker.

Thanks and regards,
Leonard Williams

PS--He's in northern PA.
