What apps do you need? Do you have a list for it?
I have some recommendations.
=======================================================
music player: qmmp + simple ui plugin (very similar to audacious) or
clementine (amarok like)
text editor: juffed
system monitor: qps (replaces lxtask)
terminal: qterminal
clipboard manager: qlipper
compositing manager: compton
irc: quassel
web browser: firefox is still better, Arora is a Qt alternative but it
crashes frequently
calculator: I haven't found a simple yet good one
file archiver: I haven't found a simple yet good one (peazip works,
but its UI is weird)
image viewer: lximage-qt
screenshot tool: lximage-qt can does it :-)
volume mixer: qastools (for alsa)
system admin tools: lxqt-admin (replaces gnome-system-tools), this is
a work in progress and will be available soon.

Cheers!
