im unclear what the question is suggesting - how are you suggesting that translations were "in users hands" but somehow were taken away? - translations are the same as they have always been - they are simply .po files - that is how they are stored and distributed - AFAIK, that is how it has always been done maybe you are suggesting that editing .po files is not user-friendly? - there are user-friendly applications for editing them, such 'poedit' and several web services also "a pull request or po file attached to an issue" is not "any" kind of submission - those are the same kind - both are sending the .po file via the github service - people could also send the .po file to this mailing list, or send it to me on a floppy disk or by carrier pidgeon maybe you are suggesting that the project should setup some "official" webby translation service? - im not sure if LXDE ever used one of those; but anyone could do that - it needs not be done by anyone on the team; and no one on the team would need to know how the .po files were edited - then anyone else could export the .po file from the translations website, and offer it to the LXDE team - in the end, that is how those web services work - the end result is .po files in the VCS _______________________________________________ Lxde-list mailing list Lxde-list@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/lxde-list
