Although the change has already been made, I'd deal with this by 
changing the order of the last sentence:

       This makes KLyX have a more modern look, and if you are using
       KDE, it is probably easier to use compared to the "normal" LyX.

It says exactly the same thing, but doesn't have the connotations that 
KLyX is easier in general that some people have picked up on.
