"What we have here is a failure to communicate." The Warden in
Cool Hand Luke delivers this great line to Paul Newman.

On July 28th I posted about a missing entry in the Wiki and
I thought this was relevant to your request. My post is entitled
"Missing file". And it specifically mentions pdfview.cmd (simple).

SH: which is the background for me writing this paragraph:

"I think it was you who asked for help checking for discrepancies
from the upgrade of Wiki versions? So I joined this list and found
pdfview.cmd which I reported already...."

SH: This list has a low volume and I didn't realize that you had
been on vacation and not followed the postings.

Then I started a new paragraph which often signals a change of subject:

"Anyway I was tuned into the doc mailing list. And although flpsed
and change tracking are germane to documentaion at a more abstract
level, I understand preserving this list for documentation about how
to use LyX and not getting into the more nebulous regions of LyX's
ultimate purpose in life as it trods the upgrade path to enlightenment. :-)"

SH: To me the first paragraph was about something that I felt was appropriate to this mailing list, the missing entry about pdfview.cmd.

To me the second paragraph says I was somewhat in the groove
for posting to this mailing list. And that although change tracking
is about documentation at a metalevel, the topic was not appropriate
to this mailing list because in my view this list has a focus on how
to use LyX now or actual missing documentation (pdfview.cmd).

So Christian responded
"> That was indeed I... however you had me completetly fooled about this,

yet.."

I'm sorry I have confused you. I never meant that the change tracking
page was missing or incorrect. I didn't even know that my statements
could be understood that way; I meant "Missing file" and pdfview.cmd
to refer to the missing documentation. I then meant to change the subject
and say although document producing software comes under the
general heading of documentation, that the worry that change tracking
might not be implemented in the 1.4 release of Windows Lyx, or,
considering alternatives, was not appropriate for this list. I thought I
was agreeing with you. I had no intent to comment on the documentation
existing on the Wiki which pertained to change tracking.

I noticed how remarkably polite you are. You set a good example.

Best regards,
Stephen
