If this happens again can you please try the following: 1) close all panes likes outlines, code preview 2) turn off continuous spellcheck 3) turn off continuous statitics on the bottom right status line and check again the speed. If that does not help 4) turn off math preview If it does not help: 5) close the document (but not application) If it does not help 6) close the whole application That might give us at least hint in which direction to look for...
