Hello,
I belive I was finally able to figure out what the problem was. When
trying to make a labelled equation, I would bring up a math box (C-m in
CUA mode, English version), intentionally move it to the next line and
then go to the paragraph layout window and center it manually.
Approximately 1.5 hours of struggling later, I noticed that the math
panel's 5th icon in the 2nd row (again, English version), which looks like
2 sets of 2 horizontal rows with a blue box between then, takes you into
another math mode (I believe this "other" math mode is what you refer to
as "display equations"). Upon doing that, multi-line equations and
labelling worked correctly.
Thank you for you help,
Sachin.
