Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) [web1913]:

     1. To deny, as a request, demand, invitation, or command; to
        decline to do or grant.

This is exactly what Trolltech did: acknowledged the bug, and stated it
would never be fixed.

I do not think it is relevant to your problem, however.
