I am using GV to view the PDF files produced by LyX. However, whenever I update the PDF file, I get the error message below. (I am using the "watch file" option, in GV.) Any ideas to overcome this problem?

Maybe upgrade to 8.14. Upgrading from 7.05 to 8.14 solved some problmes for me (not this one I'm afraid). What does xpdf say about this file ?
Thanks, Jean-Pierre. I have tried to install Ghostscript 8.14, but I get the error below. With xpdf, the redisplay is not automatic, but if I type R, the redisplay is done with no problem.
Meanwhile, I was able to install Ghostscript 8.14 by using make install instead of checkinstall, but no progress was seen. I guess that the problem may be related with the following information quoted from Ghostscript site:

Portable Document Format is a file format which contains forward and backward links. It is not a stream format like PostScript. You cannot pipe PDF files to the stdin of Ghostscript. Instead you must either give the PDF filename on the command line, or use it as the argument of the Ghostscript run command. Ghostscript 8.00 and later can read piped PDF by copying to a temporary file.Â
