It really works fine and automatically with IPA-Unicode input and
output!

BTW, the fact of easiest (undeclared and unconfigured) use of IPA-
Unicode should be more flashly, apparitionally presented as LyX
feature, impeding people like me of making indirections and endless
seeking how to achieve it.
Well, for switching I have to transform/permut/interpret the layout
and tipographic features of the \documentclass{tufte-handout}, with
wich I had LaTeXed the draft of the project until the problem of IPA-
input & -output came over me, into LyX-settings.
OT:
BTW (2), I find the document class "tufte-layout" worth to be
transformed into a LyX document class, style or template - for the
time being I did not find a way to import the sample-handout into Lyx.
