I don't know which class Springer has told you to use (there other others, depending on journal/book collections), but it is indeed svjour3 you should have it installed on your system already. You can check by going to Document>>Settings...>>Document class and clicking on the pop-up menu on the right just under "Document class". If you have svjour3 installed, you will see an item taht reads "article (Springer svjour3/global)" Select it and you are all set. I'll reply to the other problem (the bibtex issue) in another post.
