In docbook there is a tag that is the same as a set of books, so that all
the documents with the top element being a book could be part of yet another
bigger set. So as you see this is far away from article :)

The only thing that I'm doing with layouts is adapting them to our needs.
I'm glad to hear that you are understood my explanation, one of the
problems that I founded during all this time looking for sgml is that the
documentation is very sparse, and sometimes not for beginners, althoug that
is fortunately changing.

BTW: regarding all this thread I search through Altavista for latex.dtd, that
is, an SGML dtd where latex or possibly a subset was defined as an sgml
instance.
Altavista found 3 entries (!) and then suggested me to search in
Alternative Allergies... :) Any comment? ;)
