It's probably worth replacing even if you get it working. I proactively replaced mine that was working fine and was glad that I did. When I removed it I could see the corrosion beginning that had not yet made its way down the terminals to the motherboard. Incidentally, I ordered what claimed to be a NiCad from eBay but ended up with a NiMH and didn't even notice until much later. The NiMH is working fine.
