I agree with all this anti-prolific sentiment, but Thomas has what he has. Thomas if you want to prove out your cabling without buying a new USB adapter you will need to come up with a way to rig up a loopback adapter. If the device can send a byte and receive it back over the loopback, then it is good enough for what you are trying to do.
There is more than one way to do this, but you need to prove out the transmit and receive lines on your adapter, and on the model T. -- John.
