If you don't want to figure out the wiring and yourself, then you need specifically one of these cables (any of the links), http://tandy.wiki/Model_T_Serial_Cable

You need that same cable no matter what software you're using on either end, TELCOM, BASIC, a tpdd server & client, putty, windows, linux, whatever, all needs the same cable if it's connecting to a pc com port or standard usb-serial adapter which are all designed to replace old pc com ports.

The video has a link to the same startech one, except on amazon instead of startech's site.

According to Ken's video, I don't need the null modem cable, right?

    A couple of questions

What com port is your USB device on?
Is it set to auto start or are you clicking the button to start the
    service?
What kind of USB to serial device are you using?

Okay, I have mComm installed. It says "Unabled to start service"
and then "TPDD/TELCOM Service started". Maybe it's the usb to
    serial connector?

Yup, mcomm works fine on my Windows 10 laptop, connecting to
        my M102 via a usb-to-serial cable.

            Peter,

If you look farther down on the page you will see
setup250.exe which is the installer for the Windows
            version of mComm.

Bitchin 100 says that there is a Windows version of

Laddiealpha should work fine. Let me know if you run
