Might I suggest you pose these questions to samsung since it is they who
can answer whether or not there is going to be any update and to what
Android version. In ICS and in Jelly Bean, you draw a rectangle on the
screen at start up to activate it, currently, you go to apps, settings,
accessibility and check talk back and uncheck Mobile Accessibility.
That won't change.

Honestly, while I don't really know a lot about about that phone, I
have seen that if u ever do get jelly bean, talkback is gona be your
best bet.

The ultra didn't even get 2.3.6 until I want to say april of
this year. It
was stuck on 2.3.4 wich had a bad camera issue. Actually,
there is plenty
of interest on that phone if you look into it on the forums.
The interest
is there, it is just that I don't think they can figure out
how to make a
custom rom for it. In all seriousness, it should work. The
specs on that
phone are good enough for ics, so I don't know why Samsung
isn't even
bothering.
As far as speech on gingerbread, what I did was use talkback
in conjunction
with MA. So I had the best of both worlds. I set MA to use my
default
speech ingine, so that you didn't know when you were switching
between the
two, but me personally that is what I did.

To answer your first question, the answer is most likely not.
They would
have done so by now if they were going to. In fact, there is
no custom ROM
for it and that is generally a sign. The presence of a custom
Rom doesn't
guaranty support, but the lack of one on an older handset,
usually means
that there is not enough interest in the phone to warrant
development. In
that situation, the longer the handset is on the market
without an update,
the likelihood of an official upgrade diminishes. I would
venture to say
that, though I could be wrong, you have reached the limit of
what will be
done in the future. Assuming they will though, you can be
assured at this
point only ICS will be released, this means no Jelly Bean. No
manufacture
skips a version of an operating system to go to the next.
Having said that,
Talk back works better than MA but Ma offers enough features
that it is
really a trade off and depends on the skin used whether Ma is
better or not.

Hey guys,
I am running the samsung transform ultra on boost and it
works great.
Here's my question going forward. Is android going to
release ICS or
Jelly Bean to this phone?
If so what's the most reliable screen reader to use at
this point?
Has ma released a version that works under ICS or Jelly
Bean, or are
we gonna have to go with something like talkback?
Thanks,Jed
